Gameday

The day in pictures...

Daisy is ready for her first Hokie game.

Giving the touchdown signal in her sleep.

Jonas & Asher in their white out shirts (from Uncle Davey & Aunt Wendy). The beads around their neck are from the Sugar Bowl in '99.

Daisy waving at the camera. She is excited the Hokies won big. :)

Asher's hair after the game and a nap.

The boys and Aunt Cher around Daisy.

Coyote proclaiming what we all know: Daisy is #1!

Daisies for Daisy (thanks Swanns & Grammy + Grandpa).

Today was a day full of first visits: Amy, Jim, Rachel, Kelly & Kevin, John& Ashley, Aunt Lisa & Uncle Mike.

Uncle Mike has made us some meals and he and Aunt Bertie gave us an edible daisy basket! :) (sorry the pic is sideways)

Been a busy day at home -- Daisy is plumb worn out.

Visitors (and first bath)!

Daisy took her first "bath" tonight (as in sponge bath) but I don't have any pics. We took video, but it was not a happy occasion. She screamed the whole time like we were torturing her for top secret information. I'm pretty sure most newborns hate being washed, though.

Once she was all clean, she was ready for her visitors. She got to meet aunt Cheri and cousins Jonas and Asher. She also got to meet friends Steve & Jorie and Glynis.

Here are some pics:
Two of the Condon sisters visiting Daisy.

Aunt Cheri, Asher & Daisy. Asher was SO excited to meet and touch Daisy.

Jonas, who just turned 5 earlier this week, holding Daisy.

Asher holding Daisy (with help from Grandpa).

Busy night for Daisy, who has managed to sleep through most of it! That makes me wonder if she'll be awake most of the night. She definitely is still quite nocturnal. Could be a long one...

First Trip to the Pediatrician

We just got back a bit ago from Daisy's first trip to the doctor.

She slept on the way there.

However, she was very hungry by the time the doctor got into the room, so she was struggling to hold it together. And of course being stripped down and thrown on the scale didn't make her to happy, either. She didn't know what was going on.

But daddy and mommy did their best to comfort her and she made it through the appointment before getting a long feeding and she is now taking a long nap!

Tonight she'll get to meet her aunt Cheri and her cousins Jonas and Asher, so she will need plenty of rest.

More later...

First full day at home

Well we had a pretty good day at home today. We didn't get much sleep last night in our first night. Daddy had an early dentist appointment so mommy fed Daisy while daddy was gone. Mommy and Daddy rotated shifts of holding Daisy while she slept and trying to catnap and shower ourselves.

We had several visitors including Jeanette, Jim, Koren, Devin, Amy & Steve. We also were blessed with dinner from Jessamyn, who stayed long enough for a visit to hold Daisy while we ate.

Daisy did have a lot of spit-up today, even some out the nose. :( (I think she's getting a lot of air while nursing today.)

It's bedtime now-- one last pic of the day:

Okay...maybe two.

Sleeping

In the "Moses" basket...

Contentment...

We'll post more content later but I just had to share this pic of Daisy relaxing in my arms.

(yay for my phone that let's me take photos and instantly make a blog post!)

Going Home Day!

Tuesday night went pretty well. Daisy fed regularly once she got the hang of latching on. The pediatrician checked her out just before 9am and said she looked great.

Grammy and Grandpa Rose stopped by early for a quick visit before they headed home to Richmond. Then mommy and daddy shared some breakfast while Daisy slept. Then Daisy ate while daddy packed up. We spent the day relaxing while going through discharge procedures. We finally left the hospital in time to make it home around dinnertime.

Here are some going home pictures:

Here is Daddy driving Miss Daisy...

We were visited by Mike who delivered an arrangement of daisies from the Swann family.
Daddy David then unpacked while Mommy fed Daisy. We since have settled down to rest for the evening.

Here's Daisy going to bed at home for her first night.

Good Day

Well today was a great 8th anniversary for David and I. We enjoyed our first full day with Daisy.

Here she is swaddled up for bed:

Here she is with her grandpa:

Look at her bright eyes!

She is so much more than we ever imagined. She's absolutely perfect.

We had more visitors this evening: Kati, Maggi, Hayli, Cory, Mike, Kristal & Robbie. We also got tons of calls, emails and texts full of love and wishes!

Yup -- a good day indeed!

Quick Update

Daisy 21 hours old...

She's eating and sleeping well. She had her first pediatrician check-up and passed her hearing screening. Dad has changed a few poopy diapers already. Mom, dad and baby are all doing well.

Today's visitors so far have included Grammy & Grandpa Rose, Katie, Jeanette, and Adrienne. :)

Daisy!

Here's Daisy Lucile Chinn, 15 hours old.

(For those curious, Daisy & Lucile are the first names of David's two grandmothers, both of whom are no longer with us.)
