8/27 Friday afternoon Mommy, Daisy and I jumped in the car and headed to James River State Park where I met up with some guys for a pseudo-bachelor party weekend for my good friend Jonathan. Mommy and Daisy continued on to Richmond where Mommy was going to see Beth Moore. My weekend was filled with a comedy of errors, including saturday morning when we got up to go canoeing/kayaking. We had five cars in total and needed four to transfer the 3 canoes and two kayaks to the slip. Perfect, so we thought! We loaded up the cars drove up river and put in, only to realize no one had picked up the food. Thankfully Wendy had packed me a bunch of snacks and my canoe mate, brent, had a lot of cliff bars and beef jerky.... We were lucky! Even luckier when brent lost his fishing lure on a cast, but then found it downstream! and then, he lost his fishing pole through a small rapid, then we found that on the bottom of the river! What luck! Unfortunately everyone's luck was soon to run out. After a long day of paddling down the James, we pulled our canoes back up on shore only to realize Andrew, who's car we left at our site to drive us back up river to the parked cars, had left his keys in one of the parked cars at the slip!
While Wendy as was Beth Moore on Saturday morning, Daisy spent a fun morning with Jordan relaxing and playing in the pool! (and with Godfather Steve, who ran an easy half marathon that morning in his spare time)
Sunday morning was Mommy's 31st birthday. It was a bit of a crazy day since daisy wasn't feeling particulary well the night before or on Sunday, but we still had some yummy birthday pizza from Uno.... spinoccoli, Wendy's favorite. We eventually made it back to Blacksburg, where Daisy and I sung Happy Birthday to Mommy and gave her our gift, a Garmin GPS Watch!
