Almont - Colorado Springs

We left Aunt Elaine's a little after 11am and hit the road to the Walenga's in Colorado Springs.

We went through a few snowy summits before crossing the continental divide and reaching sunny weather.

We're less than an hour away now, and we just passed Canon City, home of the World's Largest Rocking Chair.

Daisy's first visit

Today marked a special day for Daisy. She met one of David's paternal aunts for the first time. David's father had 3 sisters and so far none had met Daisy. Today, we arrived in Almont (middl of nowhere, Colorado) to visit Aunt Elaine and Uncle Terry. They have a beautiful home on 35 acres of land.

Elaine, Daisy's great aunt, was so excited to meet the little girl named after her mother. She gave her a puzzle an a tutu, and Daisy loved both.

After eating an amazing Asian-style dinner, Daisy was tuckered out and we all went to bed pretty early.

On the road

Leaving Glenwood Springs

We're in the car headed to our next destination. We had a wonderful stay with Don and PJ. Its been snowing on and off and the views are breathtaking.

Some pics from our journey so far:

Yesterday PJ made breakfast by flashlight because of a power outage.

Breakfast by candlelight:

For lunch, we picked up Don from work and grabbed some pizza by the slice at Peppino's:

We were going to go to a park after lunch but it started snowing, so we went shopping instead. I bought a bag. :)

While shopping, Daisy climbed all over the store and daddy chased her. We have a video we'll post later.

We all went it to dinner last night at a Mexican restaurant called "Tequilas" that is owned by Uncle Don's friend Jesus.

Now we're enjoying rhe scenic views on I-70 headed to Elaine and Terry's.

Good night/morning!

It's 7am and I'm ready to eat!!!

To bad for daddy it's only 5am in Colorado! But why break our morning tradition? Daisy is being sweet just sitting next to me on the couch eating her snacks and watching sportscenter with me!

We left the game last night after three quarters. Of we were die hard bronco fans we may have left after the first five minutes! 38-0 in the first half!!! Of course the bears were beaten by cutler or deangello hall depending on how you look at it. Either way we had an excelllent time and we are all pooped!

I-70 west

Left game early with Broncos losing 59-14...

Now we're headed west on 70 towards Don & PJ's house in Glenwood Springs.

It snowed in parts of CO yesterday...

Also, before the game this morning we had brunch with Don & PJ just outside Denver at Simms. They are known for the best view of the city.

We're just passing Vail now and are planning to stop for dinner soon. Daisy is asleep, which is good, because her ears were bothering her with the elevation changes.

More later...

Broncos-Raiders

Ugly game so far... Broncos getting run over... 38-7 at half

VT vs. Wake

We got some last minute tickets from the folks we often tailgate with. They are indoor club seats which is nice so we can keep Daisy warm. :)
