Rainy Day Tuesday

Today was a rainy day, so Daisy and I bummed around the house while daddy worked.

Daisy likes to look at the Panda picture from Grammy Rose while lying on the changing table.

While I did laundry, I used the video monitor from Gramma Chinn to keep tabs on Daisy, who was buckled onto the changing table, still smiling at the pandas.

Daisy took a couple naps snuggled up against me in the Moby Wrap.

We then picked him up at the end of the day and ran some errands in Roanoke. Because ot rained so hard on I-81, Daisy actually slept in the car! Yay for soothing sounds!

While there we grabbed dinner at Carrabas.

I had some delicious spinach and chicken canneloni. David had clam linguini.

Daisy took a bottle in the car before dinner (after some fussing) and then she slept in the Baby Bjorn on daddy while we ate.

We shared two "mini" desserts that were delicious. Especially the creme brûlée.

Isn't Daisy a cutie?

While shopping we fit Daisy's Halloween costume -- but you'll have to wait until Saturday's post to see what it is. She slept on daddy while mommy shopped. (I need a few clothes to fit got work - I'm between sizes right now!)

Finally, when we got home, Daisy ate and them fell right asleep. :)

She really had a wonderful day being carried about! For all the hiccups here and there, we feel blessed that she is very easy going and we couldn't ask for a better daughter! :)

Monday in pics

Nothing too big happened... Still trying to get Daisy to do better with a bottle since I go back to work in a week.

Daisy and I walked to David's office to meet him for lunch. That was fun. Other than that it was a normal day st home.

Here are a few pics...

Ugh

What a Sunday. Ugh.

As many of you know, we love sports and football here at HouseofChinn. Today proved to be an ugly day for our real team and our fantasy teams.

The day started with me (Wendy) sleeping through church. I woke up at 10am and church starts at 9:30. David was up with Daisy but had decided to let me sleep in because I don't get much sleep still during the week with Daisy (as she still will only sleep in our arms or lying on our chests).

We began watching football and David's fantasy team did okay but not great. Most of his guys played early. I have mostly Bears on my team, and things only got worse when they played at 4:00.

We dressed Daisy in a new Bears outfit this week, a combo of items from Grammy and the Schmidts.

This was as happy as we would look. The Bears were crushed in their game, losing to the Bengals 45-10. It was painful to watch it was so lopsided. That meant my fantasy team, the Grilled Cheesers, got destroyed as well. When all was said and done at the end of today, I lost my game by over 100 points. For those that don't know anything about fantasy points, that is totally embarassing! Worst loss I have ever seen anyone have in my five years playing fantasy football. Ugh.

Oh, and David, who is first place currently in our league, even lost his game. Double Ugh.

To top the night off, my childhood baseball team, the Angels, lost in he ALCS and won't be playing in the World Series. Triple Ugh. A just all-around bad sports week for our family!

In positive real-life news, Daisy is as cute as ever.

Daddy picked out her first outfit this morning.

She took a nap in the Moby Wrap on my shoulder.

That's about it for our Sunday... Is it basketball season yet?

Almost -- Bulls open their season on Thursday! :)

Saturday afternoon

We pretty much hung out at home all day Saturday. We watched a little football, but mostly we just relaxed and rested.

In the afternoon, our dear friend Annie Maines stopped by with her parents, Gary & Ellie, to meet Daisy. They were in town looking for wedding venues -- Annie and Greg are getting married this time next year.

Annie held Daisy while we ate the lunch they generously brought us from Jimmy John's.

Daddy and Daisy then napped for a bit while Mommy relaxed watching some TV on the DVR.

After dinner we cut some coupons and went to Kroger to get some groceries and more importantly, some diapers.

Not sure if you can see it, but Daisy had a pretty big milk mustache rockin' on her face.

Goodbye Grammy

Grammy had to leave early this morning, so David got up a cooked us a yummy breakfast of French toast, bacon, baked apples, and cantelope.

We then helped Grammy load the car and said goodbye.

Before Grammy left we had to try on these special sock-shoes she gave Daisy.

Looks like it might be a nice fall day in Blacksburg. Bye Grammy - see you again soon!

Time for a nap already!

Fall Cleaning Friday

Okay... Fall cleaning is a bit of an overstatement. But my mom came in town for the day to visit with Daisy and help me organize the nursery. So we did get Daisy's room cleaned and organized! And we also got curtains hung that she made. (Thanks Grammy!)

While we worked, we attempted to put Daisy down for a nap.

She lasted 15 minutes before waking up fussing. Then we changed her diaper and since she seemed happy on the changing table, we let her lie there for a few minutes.

In the evening, Daddy and Daisy took a nap:

Daddy then fed her a bottle.

Daisy bounced for a while in her bouncy seat.

She really likes to bury her head in Daddy's armpit.

Grammy & Daisy

Daisy swaddled and ready for bed:

She met Matt today for the first time. She also got a package of goodies from her Great Uncle Bob and Great Aunt Sharlene.

That's all for today -- it's bedtime! :)
